Skagaströnd is a village located on the north west part of Iceland by the bay Húnaflói. Inhabitants are around 550 and fishing is the main economic activity. It was for a while known for being the home of country music in Iceland. It is a nice place to stop by on the way around the peninsula to Skagafjörður if travelling during summer.
