Hvammstangi
Hvammstangi is a small town in the north west part of Iceland, on the west part of the Vatnsnes peninsula by the Mjóifjörur fjord. Hvammstangi is a fishing village, with inhabitants around 580. Next town to the east is Blönduós about 58 km and to the west is Búðardalur about 80 km. The village is located about 5 km north from the main road (road nr.1)
Hvammstangi is the perfect place to go seal watching as the Miðfjörður fjord is famous for being the home of a lot of seals. In Hvammstangi you can also find the Verslunarminjasafnið Bardúsa (shopping museum and local product store).
