Nauthólsvik is a man-made geothermal beach in Reykjavík Iceland. Most beaches in Iceland include black sand and cold ocean but in Nautholsvik a golden beach was brought in from elsewhere and natural hot water flows into the sea making it warm and cozy. 

The beach was opened in 2000 and is used for sunbathing, sailing and sea-swimming. The service center offers facilities including changing rooms, hot showers and in front of the service is a big hot tub and a steambath.

Swimming in the cold ocean is an activity that is getting more popular in Iceland every year but icelanders believe it is good for your mind and body. Nauthólsvík is a perfect spot for sea-swimming but keep in mind the water temperature is close to a zero degrees celsius so read the safety signs before dipping in and remember to use the hot tub afterwards.
