Foss á Síðu is a small waterfall falling off a tuffstone cliffs nearby the farm Foss á Síðu. The waterfall has the same name as the farm or the opposite. There is not a lot of water in the waterfall but the formation is very beautiful about 30 m high with an astonishing touch. ,,Foss’’ means waterfall and ,,á Síðu’’ is the name of the mountain area and the surrounding farming area where the waterfall is.

Directions

The waterfall is located about 3 hours and 20 minutes (262 km) drive from Reykjavík in South Iceland. Take Ring Road nr. 1 towards the town Kirkjubæjarklaustur. From Kirkjubæjarklaustur the waterfall is on the left side of the road after about 10 minutes drive.

Note: Do not park the car on the main road! Be careful when turning of the main road, slow down in time and give indicators.
